If In Doubt Peddle It Out

So this week we bit the bullet and bought Ed a bike seat…I’ve got to say, this little jaunt around the park was worth every agonising minute of trying to fix the blasted seat!  Seriously, there should be an idiots guide with these things!

It doesn’t have to cost much to make memories like these, we bought our bike seat from Decathalon for little and it’s the perfect way to introduce healthy activities to your children lifestyle.

There are so many benefits to cycling with or without the family!

  • If you’re not a fan of the gym or prefer outdoor activities then this is the perfect opportunity to incorporate exercise into your daily routine.  It not only burns calories, it increases your cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength and mobility.  The added bonus is it is non-impact and therefore your joints do not experience the jarring as you would of perhaps say running.  It can also help increase metabolism and fight off excess weight.

  • Cycling is a wonderful stress reliever and can transform a mood and therefore does wonders for your mental health.

  • It’s free!  Okay so you need a bike and helmet but it’s a great long term investment and avoids alternative transport.

  • Speaking of which, using a bicycle as opposed to a car is a proactive step to living a greener life.

  • Last but not least – it’s fun and invigorating! Having a healthy dose of fresh air really can change a persons day.

So get cycling people, there are so many sights to see, make some memories!
